Codi Hauka is a journalist from Vancouver, Canada. She lived and worked in Japan for two years between degrees, during which she wrote for a Vancouver-based online publication about Japanese culture and American politics, while also managing a satirical news website which she co-founded (RIP, The Magpie).

She graduated from the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of British Columbia in 2016, receiving the Donna Logan Award for Investigative Journalism for her longform research project on virtual relationships. She travels often; carries a camera always. Currently, Codi works as a Communications Specialist by day, and works on other journalism and research projects by night/very early morning. She is currently available for freelance projects.
